Step 1; Drawing, Describing and Notarizing Your Invention

These first 3 steps are designed to make the filing of a Provisional Patent quick and easy with out the help of a Patent Attorney, if that is your desire, if not by all means use a Patent Attorney.

Why does step 1 have 3 steps in it? Why, because these 3 steps are vital that they be done without prolonged delay between them. In other words your protection date does not start until all 3 steps of step 1 are complete. If you do not want any of the people who will be involved with you and your Invention to steal, rob, cheat, swindle, defraud, or deceive you right out of you Invention, then you must complete step 1 before anyone sees or hears about your Invention.

Although there are 3 steps in step 1, I will explain 1 step at a time.

Step 1 of step 1:

Even if you are not an artist; do the best you can to draw your Invention from 4 angles (Top, Bottom, Left and Right) on 4 different pieces of paper numbering each paper Fig1 Fig2 Fig3 Fig4, leaving 4 inches of room at the bottom of each paper for a notary to notarize them.

An example is coming up of one of my Inventions called the Plug Snug-it (tm). Just remember I am only showing 1 drawing. To be safe you need to show at least 4 drawings.

Ok every one else pokes fun of my last name so you have permission to do so. Just do not tell my wife she is a willful sinner, even if she did say “I Do” to the preacher who married us. She willfully became a Sinner. I hope you chuckled, everyone else did.

Being an Inventor living in Kentucky I have many experiences! One of them was on a cold sunshiny morn, barefoot and sipping my coffee while working on one of my Inventions. I casually stepped out onto my deck. My feet froze to the deck planks. Upon desperately twisting like a pretzel to open the sliding class door, my hands froze to the handle.
